In 1976, Mike Moorman, chose to leave his career as a CPA and transition into insurance sales where he could impact clients by helping them achieve financial security for themselves and their families.  Mike fought his way to becoming a top producer with Provident Mutual until their merger with Nationwide.  His thirst for knowledge led him to passing his CPA exam in 1975, becoming a CLU (Chartered Life Underwriter) in 1979 and obtaining his ChFC (Chartered Financial Consultant) designation in 1986.

In the late 1990’s, with changes in the industry, Mike’s career transitioned toward more comprehensive financial planning, which includes assisting clients with their estate, retirement, and education funding goals.  Mike’s proven success coupled with his dedication to his clients brought several pension plans to his practice by way of referrals.

Mike employs Cindy Durst as his full-time assistant and technology resource.  She completed the Investment Company Products / Variable Contracts Representative Exam (Series 6) in 2002 and the Uniform Securities Agent State Law Exam (Series 63) in 2004.  Cindy’s proficiency in navigating procedures and documentation, along with her organization skills, have proven to be an integral asset to Mike’s practice over the years.

Always concerned with providing superior service to his clients, Mike invited his daughter, Brittany Spiller, to join his practice in 2010.  His goal is to spend an entire decade grooming and mentoring Brittany before his own retirement, so the transition for his clients will be seamless.  She attained her General Securities Representative license (Series 7), Uniform Combined State Law license (Series 66), and Life and Health licenses prior to starting her career with Mike.  Brittany’s Bachelors’ of Science degree with majors in Finance and Accounting from Xavier University as well as the 10 years spent in corporate accounting and human resource positions have aided her in working with businesses and pension plans.  She has developed a successful career with her own clients in addition to working with Mike’s clients.

In the ever-changing world of pension planning, it became evident to both Mike and Brittany that small companies would greatly value additional hands-on service to both comply with regulations and to maximize benefits.  As the Department of Labor increased the requirements associated with disclosures, documentation, and communication of pension plans, Mike and Brittany wanted to assist small businesses in navigating these stipulations.  A clear solution was the establishment of MSM and incorporating an accomplished sales manager who could act as a point man for small business pension plans.

Brian Moorman, son of Mike and and brother to Brittany,  fit this role perfectly.

Brian’s 15 years experience as a sales manager provided the ideal foundation for the position, capitalizing on his attention to detail, listening skills, and problem resolution abilities.  Demonstrating his dedication to leadership and achieving quantifiable improvements, Brian is a certified Six Sigma Green Belt and has earned his Masters of Business Administration from Bellarmine University.  Brian has also completed the Investment Company Products / Variable Contracts Representative Exam (Series 6), the Uniform Securities Agent State Law Exam (Series 63) and Life and Health Insurance licenses.

Together Mike, Lisa, Brittany, and Brian are passionate about helping individuals prepare for retirement through assisting small businesses.  Their goal is to aid business owners with alleviating ERISA complexities established by the Department of Labor.
